1.)  I’m thankful for my mother, even though she really gets on my last nerve sometimes i love her. She was in a bad car accident about a year ago and they idea that i could have lost her scares me immensly.

2.) I am thankful for my little cousin Marcus. My aunt and uncle tried for a long time to have a baby but they couldn’t get pregnant and December 27, 2008 little marcus was born and adopted into our family. I love him so much.

3.) I am thankful for my small town atmosphere. I could never live in a big city. I’d be scared the whole time.

4.) I am thankful for my cell phone. what teenage girl isn’t though?

5.) I am thankful for my boyfriend. He’s always there for me and was a huge help to me when my mom got into the accident. I could always talk to him about what i was feeling.

6.) I am thankful for my grandma being able to live with us. She lived on her own and one night had a mini stroke while on the phone with me and we had to break into her house because she barricaded herself in it because she was afraid of someone breaking in. Now she lives with us and feels much safer.

Commonly Mistaken Words Challenge

For an assignment in College Comp this week, we had a big list of commonly misspelled words. We had to define each one and tell the difference between them and then draw a picture so we can remember the difference. Our assignment for today is to write a paragraph including as many of those words as we can.

Everyday we choose between two people to give to them a piece of your dessert. You’re very kind in giving the principal all of your dessert that you would have thrown away. We do a thorough job in deciding who’s going to get the treat too. It’s been very beneficial to sit down with the kids over there and lead them to fewer problems that would hurt their conscience by promising them a reward. We’re all ready to further this program with the hope that it will affect everyone. Already we have parents calling and saying that their child’s behavior has gone from decent to awesome! They’re very happy with this program except for a select few whose children don’t want to keep peace , which we find illicit. We are conscious of the fact that it makes parents breathe easier and helps them lie down at night knowing their children finally choose to accept and follow rules. We are among five schools who chose to do this experiment. Including a school ,where most of the land around them is a desert, were able to see a drastic change in the loose rule system. However we lost a few schools when they believed it led them agaisnt when their descendents believed in. We hope to get them back with us farther down the road. Though they left it didn’t really effect us. We were upset but we kept breathing and hope every day that they will come back.

48 of them

Oh, my luve’s like a red, Red rose, That ’s newly sprung in March; Oh, My luve’s like the melodie That’s sweetly played in tune.

Its Friday!

Its finally Friday! And tonight’s going to be pretty sweet. Possible football game and then going to my boyfriend’s college at midnight with a bunch of people to watch him play basketball! Its going to be pretty fun since its at midnight, but hopefully there won’t be any drama. But i wouldn’t totally count it out with a group full of girls.. It usually ends up happening anyway. But we’ll see. At least its not snowing or raining today! Who wants that bad weather in the middle of October?! Defianately not me. I can’t stand snow! Its cold, get dirty, and makes everything wet! And if it hasn’t been snowing, its been cold, windy, and rainy. Not a great day to take senior pictures, which i need to get done here soon. I should also do my other homwork, so i’m going to quit writing this post now. ha-ha

Reaction to the article

This article honestly does not surprise me really. Teenagers in our world today are always trying to find the easy way out when it comes to homework and other things they don’t really care about but just want to do and get it over with. Its a good thing this guy ended up confessing but i really don’t think that it would be that easy to crack the cheaters.  Cheating is a big problem for teenagers today. We have a lot more responsibilites now, with school, college planning, future planning, jobs, have somewhat of a social life, that doesn’t leave a whole lot of room for homework. So if we can get it done as fast and easily as we can, then all for it  We know its wrong, but we do it anyway. and if you do it once theres a very high chance that you’ll do it again. Its just easier, and thats what teenagers are looking for. I’m trying to say its right, because i’m very much agaisnt it, i’m just stating what i see as a teenager.

Just another random post…

So I realized that I had to do four of these post by September 4 and it is September 3 today and I only have two done. So I decided I should probably come up with something to put on here so I won’t have so much to do tom. As I was looking at my brothers ipod touch today i found an app called weird laws. Some of them were very biazzare to say the least. Here are some of the laws that were on this ipod and i looked it up on the internet and these are supposedly real laws though i still can’t believe any of these are true but they are entertaining:

In Alabama: It is illegal to play dominos on Sunday.

In Colorado:  It is illegal to let a dandelion grow within city limits.

In California: It is illegal to set up a mousetrap without a hunting license.

In Alaska: In Fairbanks, it is illegal to give alcoholic beverages to a moose.

In Florida: It is illegal for a man to wear any kind of strapless gown.

In Georgia: It is illegal to change the clothes on a storefront mannequin unless the shades are down.

In Illinois: in Joliet, it is illegal to mispronounce the name Joliet.

In Louisiana: It is against the law to gargle in public.

In Maine: Waterville, it is illegal to blow your nose in public.

In Massachusetts: it is illegal to wear a goatee without a license.

In Minnesota: Women may face up to 30 days in jail if they impersonate Santa Clause.

In Montana: It is a felony for a wife to open her husband’s mail.

In North Carolina: Asheville, it is illegal to sneeze on city streets. Didn’t know i could’ve been arrested this summer. oops.

In North Dakota: It is illegal to lie down and fall asleep with your shoes on.

In Ohio: Youngstown, it is illegal to run out of gas.

and the list just went on and on.

The one they had for Iowa was in Fort Madison and it says the firemen are required to practice for 15 minutes before attending a fire.

Though i really can’t say i believe any of these laws are actually true, it does make me that much more thankfull that i live in a small, normal town. Where i don’t have to worry about sneezing on city streets or falling asleep with my shoes on.

If your reading this, just Stop. Trust me.

Well, this is my second post  for this assignment. Its begining to get more interesting everytime. But I’m trying to keep an open mind about it. I’m having troubles figuring out things to write about, which is why you should just stop reading it. I don’t think i would mind it so much if it wasn’t as confusing or if things weren’t so public.

But since this is a required thing in order to pass this class, I have no choice but to do it. So here it goes.

I can’t believe I’m a senior. People really mean what they say when they saw high school goes fast.  I am sitting by one of my friends currently and she is very hyper which is not allowing to get anything down. I have been staring at that last sentance for about 10 minutes now. I’m also sure she is annoying everybody with her obnoxiously loud laughter. One time she was at a basketball game with me and they were playing the national anthem and i happened to say something i know very much regret because i’m sure the crowd on the other side of this extremely large gymnasium heard her laughter. That was a very embarrassing game for me.

Welcome!

Hey.  My name is Stephanie but you can call me Steph. This is our College Comp assignment for our senior year.  Like i said I’m a senior in High School. Its finally my last  year!  It’s been fun but I’m ready to get on with my life. I’m not sure what i want to do for a career but hopefully I’ll figure it out soon. Since this is my first time ever blogging, it  hopefully will be a very fufilling experience that i could use in the future. We are our teachers guinea pigs, since this is her first time doing this, so it should be full of surprises!
